0:14Everyone my name's Karl I'm from a Rundle my good friends from a company called more and more we predominantly work in light moving image and a lot in the fashion industry and is a show real to give you an idea of what we do ♪

2:54so for the past three years we've kind of work falling back to back on client jobs we didn't have any break in between we just went from job to job and they got us thinking about how you know our own thinking and how we work as a studio and a lot of the time when you're doing back-to-back jobs you kind of get into a rhythm of like knowing how to respond to things.

3:20So if a breeze comes in for like Nike and it's for this type of shoe you kind of know the sort of thing that are going to expect so we thought that we were kind of picking up a lot of like learned behaviors so thought how could it break this cycle and like try and do something different and shake things up a bit so what we decided to do was to close the studio totally for 50 days and just work on anything that we wanted to so we've worked completely on impulse as soon as we got in to you know the end of the day anything you think of if you want to shoot it through anything we just made it. So that was obviously like quite a lot of fun but the idea was was that we wouldn't have you know when you want to brief comes in right a lot of the works already been done to say you know it's for something so you kind of know what to do with this inside it was we want you to see it as a representation of odd somehow and see what we would learn from that of the idea that if you can make anything what do you make like what naturally comes out from the inside and that's what I was supposed to say on this slide so it's the challenge challenge or thinking you know to let go of those learns you know there's learned habits so this is only a ten minute thing.

4:56This is a really reduced version of like what we did we kind of I think we came up with like 19 core ideas that we worked on but everything from now on was done in the course of 50 days so the first one was we covered up the idea of inflatables so instead of stopping to think if that was good we just instantly started making it and that was the running through the theme throughout the whole thing as as soon as the idea comes into your mind just start making it instantly and don't stop to think if it's good ♪

6:33the next things this kind of weirdly there's like nothing to say about these things we did do them completely on impulse so there was no grand concept behind anything in sight we come in in the morning in sight what about packing packing things. And then that was it. So that's what we did you [Applause]

10:31so what we learned from it that was a very very small selection of like what we did and one thing.

10:38That's quite surprising is that once you get into this method of thinking the ideas come quicker than you can physically make them so you come in and go without packing packing and then ten minutes later what about something else but then you have to make the first thing it's all of so it becomes it it's almost like a you know once you let totally let goes then it doesn't stop and that was a very something we really learned from it and also if you have no boundaries at all as you put no boundaries on yourself then then you see your own limitations you see where you naturally stopped and the areas that you won't go so so we learn to quite a lot that way. And I think the biggest thing was you know there's no idea of just working fast not stopping not thinking too much at the beginning and just go in with it and letting it be more of a free-flowing process this is a edit of the best bits ♪

14:52okay really quickly and the problem is we're doing all that and having so much fun is you just don't want to go back so you don't want to go back to doing normal jobs so we started this thing very very recently called on and on which is a continuation of the 60 days because we just can't stop doing it.
